Aug. 16, 2016—Lissa Archuletta, an assistant principal at Hairgrove Elementary School, was named the new principal at Hancock Elementary School on Aug. 16. Archuletta replaces Nancy Rogers, who retired from CFISD this summer.
Archuletta has 21 years of experience in education. She has served as a teacher in Kaufman ISD and Huntsville ISD and in Mesquite ISD as a teacher, an instructional specialist and a testing coordinator. In 2012, she was hired as an assistant principal at Hairgrove.
Archuletta earned her Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies from Texas State University and her Master of Education from Texas A&M–Commerce. She received her principal certification from the University of St. Thomas.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be selected as the principal of Hancock Elementary,” Archuletta said. “My hope is to work together with the community and staff to inspire our students so that they may reach their full potential. We will strive for excellence while having a little fun along the way. I am so excited to become a Hancock Hawk!”
